Hi, my name is Linda and welcome to The Wholesome Kitchen.

I am a holistic nutritionist and cooking coach with a passion for cooking and eating well.

I work primarily with families and offer solutions in the kitchen such as meal planning, cooking, shopping and organizing everything from your meals to your kitchen cupboards. I help parents deal with picky eaters, and involve their children in the planning and execution of a meal. I provide nutritional guidance, education and support in areas like incorporating whole foods, transitioning to a vegetarian or vegan diet, managing gluten and dairy intolerances, healthy weight loss, healthy pregnancy and early childhood nutrition, and just overall health and wellness.

The Wholesome Kitchen came about from my love of cooking and interest in food, specifically how food can heal, energize and nourish you. Although I did not begin my journey as a nutritionist, over time, I became aware of how the choices we make on a daily bases can affect how we feel and ultimately how our bodies functions, and that diet can play a vital role in prevention of some diseases.

I began my journey in health and wellness while completing my Degree in Nursing at McMaster University. Not only did nursing teach me about health and the human body, but more importantly, it taught me about disease and the conventional treatment of disease.

Over time, I began to develop an interest and passion for food and cooking, even hosting summer camps for kids in my kitchen. After years of experimenting and teaching children how to prepare wholesome meals, I decided it was time to enhance my knowledge and skills. In 2012, I enrolled in the Healthy Culinary Arts at George Brown College and enjoyed preparing heart healthy, gluten-free, and low glycemic meals. I completed the Applied Nutrition Diploma Program through Alive Academy, and graduated as a Certified Holistic Nutritionist in 2015. Currently, I am enrolled in a certificate program through The Institute of Holistic Nutrition, focusing on natural and healthy pregnancy and early childhood nutrition.

Now it’s my turn to share my knowledge of nutrition and provide you with the necessary culinary skills to feed yourself and your family wholesome meals that not only taste good, but are simple to prepare. Not only will you learn to cook well, eat well and feel well, you will have the knowledge and skills to continue to nourish yourself and your family. I look forward to working with you and inspiring you to build your own Wholesome Kitchen. I will now leave you with one of my favourite quotes,

For “ one cannot think well, love well, sleep well if one has not dined well.” – Virginia Woolf
